*Shakes head* I thought I could be a career artist. I even got a degree for it. Know where it got me? Unemployed, sharing a bedroom with a 13-year old, living off my mom's generosity. I've been trying for a year, and no luck. I lowered my standards and even tried getting jobs at places like McDonalds. No luck. I'm selling plasma twice a week and saving, saving, saving... Because there's a reason for the term "Starving artist."

How old are you dear? I can`t belive you, you domaind the art, I saw it on your gallery, Its true, about the luck, but If you stop your dreams, you will be sad for the rest of your life, Dream, and be your dreams come true, I belive in you.
Your mom is Great, I live at my parents house, and I have 22 years old, I dont have luck in art you see? The art school here are terribles. So My goal now is go to some internation school to bring me the oportunity to get a wonderfull animation carrer, so my parents couldn`t pay for that, Its very expensive, so I must to work hard to pay for it,and in 5 years maybe I can go there... dreams, all dreams, you know.. but My smile for now is dream about it, and belive in it.

I turn 22 on June 14th... and thanks for the words of hope.

There just aren't people hiring artists right now, so I've been trying to get by in the meantime. I'm sure some day I could get a job doing what I love, but right now I'll do anything that helps put food in the fridge.

I only brought this up as a warning. Artistry is a VERY competitive field. Having a degree doesn't help much, and unfortunately, being talented doesn't mean much either. It's all about luck and knowing the right people. Hopefully things will be better by the time you go to an art school.

I always kinda assumed I'd be an artist as a second job. I hadn't considered the difficulty of getting a first job.

Mm, did you try to do somes Child`s illustration books? You can do that like Free lance artist.
I did, but mine is the Movies and TV.
